Channeling: Perseverance
Perseverance can often feel like a push: Just push through it – just fight this feeling, these obstacles – and get to the other side. First of all, we want to quash the notion of there ever really being ‘the’ other side. There are always many, infinite sides. And you may just be seeing another side, one of the infinite sides. Like a diamond casting a beam of light in many directions, where the light shines may illuminate one angle… and this can change in an instant, and the beams can be layered upon one another, and so on.
So, pushing through to ‘get’ somewhere is fruitless. Because just like there is no ‘one’ other side you are meant to arrive at, there is no single destination point that is correct for you, or correct enough for you that you ever need to push yourself.
Yes, sometimes you will need to challenge yourself, but we never want you to use perseverance as a tool to ‘whip’ yourself into shape, treating yourself like a workhorse who isn’t allowed breaks.
You are human. Timelines shift. Feelings shift. It is not necessary to move in a straight line of progress and achievement. This isn’t what perseverance is for.
Perseverance is a gift you give yourself when you are feeling like it is impossible to achieve your dreams. It is a compassionate choice not to give up on yourself. It is the courage to have self-belief even when your current reality may seem like a far way off point in time.
Perseverance, like resilience, isn’t just the encouragement or the confidence-boosting pep talk, either. It’s not just telling yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to and carrying on. It is honoring yourself and your path.
It is wise. It is based on a knowing that transcends the mental – that transcends the physical reality operating as evidence. It is a deep connection to the knowing your soul possesses that you WILL achieve your aim, even if it doesn’t look like how your mind expects it to look.
So, perseverance also has this gentle call to it. The gentleness of a reminder that asks you to look within and recall the truth. To look within and see what you are feeling. To be honest with yourself and, to time and time again, choose to compassionately process, validate, and soothe yourself through the sticky times or murky waters. To hold yourself resiliently in the unknown, while keeping the faith that a commitment to your process will, eventually, take you to where you know you are meant to be. And, that it will take you there in the most aligned, divine and magical way, if you allow it.
Allowing is not a term often associated with ‘perseverance’. Again, this tends to conjure up images of fighting against the elements in your life. And yet, perseverance is natural. The river rolls off into the ocean with a constancy and regularity that might be called persevering. Even when the wind blows or soil or rocks build up around its perimeter, there is a consistency to this motion, this downward movement toward a singular space that resonates with this word, in a way that is different from its typical understanding.
Let your soul be that ocean. Let your breath be that guide. Always come back to it. No matter how much seems to seek to stop this flow, remain with this ever-moving energy which seeks to bring you back to it, like the current of the river gliding toward the space it knows it must belong to. It is like the water has this memory in its cells. So do your cells remember the truth of your origin, of your belonging to the light of your soul. And when you bask your cells in this light, it is like they are reborn.
The cells of your body are persevering. They hold the memory of your state of perfection and continually seek to return to this space. They seek to align themselves with your health and your well-being, despite the many forces at play which might challenge these processes, despite often being ignored or not cooperated with. They hold this love for you that operates resiliently, and kindly, in your best interests.
We ask you again to persevere, but with only your best interests at heart. With only your heart at heart. Be resilient in your love, your commitment to being gentle with yourself, your dedication to returning to your truth, your purpose, your soul, and your guidance. Know that you are so guided, and the river of Spirit will always seek to bring you home.
That is all.
