The Rose and the Goddess

Writing late this week to let a little more flow in and not to be so perfectionist! (That was more the lesson of the occurrence than the intent, but the message is received!).

I hope everyone is well as the Astro Weather does some big shifts!

In my own life, I am feeling a certain quiet momentum, the way I imagine the life inside a seed might feel as it begins to push further outward against itself…but not yet through.

And the plant analogy is appropriate, as I continue to deepen my relationship with plant spirits! Particularly, now, the Rose has come through as a mentor, sister and friend. She is, amongst other things, helping to teach me patience. Some of you reading this will see the humor in that!!

As I have been led to have a deeper connection to the Goddess over the last year, there has been much mention of the rose to me. Sometimes, Spirit has used the Rose and the Goddess almost interchangeably. As I understand it, of all the flowers on Earth, the Goddess has the closest resonance with the rose, who seems to symbolically and energetically hold certain mysteries of the Divine Feminine.

There is a lot of slow unfolding around this, much of which I’ve received through messages or sudden realizations and I feel I’m holding a toothpick against a cosmic iceberg… (barely scratching any surface…).

But it’s also fun!

Some connections I’ve been contemplating:

·      The original rose had 5 petals, and 5 is the number of Venus, Goddess of Love

·      Venus and Earth make a 5-petalled flower pattern around the sun

·      The rather yoni-shaped and soft petalled textures

·      The spiraling path inwards

·      Its cyclical nature, potential for second-blooms and fruiting…

·      The ‘rose polarity’: the rose and the thorns on the same stem

·      A message from spirit: “when you are sensual you attract like a flower”

·      Its connection to Mother Mary, Isis, and many other of the Divine Feminine examples

·      The use of roses in healing menstrual pain

·      Some sort of connection between the way the mother holds the eggs of their grandchildren in their womb-space with the Fibonacci series, and how the rose’s petals hold this golden ratio…

I’m sure there is SO much more, and people like Rebecca Campbell have shared much of this and have likely gone much deeper.
